Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Sleepy Stories. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About the service

Sleepy Stories is an online subscription service that generates personalised AI-written bedtime stories for children and delivers them by email to registered parents and guardians. The service is operated by Sleepy Stories ("we", "us", "our").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. Free trial

New accounts receive a free trial period as displayed during registration.
The trial is limited to one child profile.
No payment details are required to start a trial.
Stories will be delivered daily during your trial. At the end of the trial period, story delivery will stop unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
We reserve the right to modify or withdraw the free trial at any time for new registrations.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis via Stripe.
The price and features of each plan are as described on our pricing page at the time of purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled.
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
All prices are inclusive of applicable VAT where required by law.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal in your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us within 14 days at support@sleepystories.co.uk.

6. Referrals

Referring a friend who successfully registers may entitle both parties to additional free trial days or account credits, as described in the referral programme at the time.
Referral rewards have no cash value and cannot be exchanged.
We reserve the right to modify or terminate the referral programme at any time.

7. AI-generated content

Stories are generated by artificial intelligence using the profile information you provide. Each story is unique and created specifically for your child.
While we instruct the AI to produce age-appropriate, positive, and safe content, we cannot guarantee that every story will perfectly match your expectations. We encourage parents to read stories before sharing them with younger children.
If you receive a story that you consider inappropriate, please contact us immediately at support@sleepystories.co.uk.
Stories are generated for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish stories for commercial purposes.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Provide false or misleading information when creating profiles
Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or access restrictions
Use the service in any way that could harm children or other users
Reverse-engineer or scrape the service
Share your account with others or allow third parties to use your subscription

9. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, abuse the service, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide notice where reasonably practicable.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Deletion removes all child profiles, stories, and personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

The Sleepy Stories platform, branding, and all software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. AI-generated stories delivered to your account are licensed to you for personal use only.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sleepy Stories shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you in any month shall not exceed the amount you paid us during that month.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.
